White plastic with a bar across the middle that seperates the contacts 
when released, allows them to spring together when pressed ?

That sounds like the same sort  of switches as used on the Dragon 32 
keyboard, or at least most of them, and is viewed by most Dragon owners 
to be inferior to the later type used on the 64, and some later 32s.

I'd cirtainly say it's not as good as the BBC/Master/Electron keyboard.
