I recently sold a machine to a guy in the Netherlands, and charged £29.50
shipping. The cost breakdown of that was £19 for the basic shipping cost
using DHL plus £5.00 for transit cover up to £250, with VAT added, makes it
£27.60. The balance of a few pounds covers the packing materials etc., so
that quote of the first seller sounds about right.
£50 is just either plain profiteering, or the seller being ignorant of the
various shipping options available. I would bet a cheese sandwich on the
former....
Mark.
